About Us
Our Roots: A Legacy of Craft & Cultivation
Vigil Family Wines is deeply rooted in the agricultural heritage of Sebastopol, California. Our story began in 1986, when Sabina and Tarcicio Vigil (a.k.a. Mom and Dad) purchased the historic property, home to California’s oldest blueberry farm—originally planted in 1940. Under their care, the 13-acre farm flourished as a diverse berry operation, lovingly renamed Sebastopol Berry Farm. It was truly a family-run endeavor, with everyone pitching in—from farming the land to selling the berries. For over three decades, the farm stood as a symbol of the Vigil family’s commitment to responsible farming and community.
In 2019, the farm embarked on a new chapter, honoring its history while embracing a bold vision for the future. The land was replanted with two clones of Pinot Noir and two clones of Chardonnay, thoughtfully selected to highlight the unique terroir of the Green Valley of Sonoma County AVA.
At Vigil Family Wines, we proudly carry forward the values that built our legacy—sustainability, craftsmanship, and a profound respect for nature. From vine to bottle, we embrace environmentally conscious farming practices, ensuring the health and vitality of our land for generations to come. Each bottle we produce celebrates this land’s rich transformation, showcasing the elegance and complexity that define our region.
We invite you to join us on this journey and savor the story of Vigil Family Wines—crafted with heart, rooted in history.
