VIGIL FAMILY HIEROGLYPHS

Our Living Symbols

Before there were tasting notes, there were stories.

Before there were vineyards, there was movement.

Our inaugural vintage introduced a symbolic language—one rooted in ancestry, nature, and transformation. These are not decorative. They are deeply personal. They are part of how we tell our story.

The Monarch

TRANSFORMATION / MIGRATION / MEMORY

Each year, millions of monarch butterflies travel thousands of miles to Michoacán, Mexico—ancestral land tied to the Vigil family’s origins. This epic migration mirrors our own story: movement across borders, across generations, across time. The monarch represents transformation, endurance, and the invisible threads that connect us to where we came from—even when we build something new. For us, the monarch is not just a symbol of beauty. It is a symbol of becoming.

Oyamel Fir Tree

Protection / Sanctuary / Continuity

High in the mountains of central Mexico, the monarchs return each winter to one sacred place: the Oyamel fir forests. These ancient trees create the exact conditions the monarchs need to survive—cool, sheltered, and still. The Oyamel represents home as refuge. Land as guardian. Roots that hold even when everything else is in motion. In our story, this tree is a reminder that cultivation is not just about growing—it’s about protecting what grows.

The Wolf

Kinship / Resilience / Instinct

The Vigil family traces its roots to a small town known as La Lobera—“The Place of the Wolf.” Wolves are not solitary. They move in packs. They rely on one another. They endure. For us, the wolf represents family, intuition, loyalty, and survival. It is a reminder that nothing we build is built alone—and that strength is collective.
